Okinawa Traditional Style Residence
This detached house is a remodeled kominka(Okinawa traditional style residence) on Ishigaki Island with a red-tiled roof and a history of nearly 100 years. You can rent out this entire specious residence.
The ceiling of the main room features joints made from inumaki (Podocarpus macrophyllus), a rare building material from Okinawa. This building is a precious one in terms of both history and culture.
It is particularly recommended for people who have large equipment for fishing, diving, or cycling.
This home is also equipped with a refrigerator, washing machine, and other items required for daily life, so it's perfect for long stays. Think of it as your holiday home on Ishigaki Island to enjoy with family members or friends!

Surrounding environment・Notes
The neighborhood is a quiet residential district with many traditional kominka with red-tiled roofs. Maitsuba-Utaki, one of Ishigaki Island's sacred spots, is also located nearby and is home to a large tree of around 300 years old. You can also find shop and supermarket selling daily necessities and groceries, as well as restaurants and izakaya (Japanese-style pub) nearby. It takes 15 minutes to walk to the central part of the city and Rito Terminal.
The kominka adjoins the owner's house, so there are some opportunities for the owner to see staying guests. I look forward to interacting with guests and helping them to have the best stay on Ishigaki Island.
The owner's residence is home to two lively children, so it may be noisy at times. I cannot recommend this kominka for people who are very sensitive or who dislike children.
- As this house is a traditional kominka, some of the ceilings (excluding the atrium) are low. Please be aware that people 175 centimeters or taller may bump their heads.
- Kominka are not tightly sealed, so geckos or insects may get inside.
- Neighborhood stray cats may come into the yard, but please do not feed them.
- If you want to use the parking space, please contact me ahead of time and tell me how many days.
There may be other ways in which this kominka is a bit inconvenient, but it's perfect for people who will enjoy staying here with a positive mindset!
